We believe that a person with a growing relationship with Jesus Christ will share these values: Love for God, Love for Others, Love for Serving, Love for Community and Love for the Bible.
-A love for God

We believe that in order for someone to be growing in their relationship with Jesus that they must love God beyond everything else in their lives just as Jesus calls us to. In valuing this love for God we believe that our love for God is reflected in our obedience to Him.

My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them.
-A love for Others

Jesus makes it very clear that out of everything we are to love other than God, it is his greatest creation, others. Throughout scripture Jesus loved people no matter their background or story, at Summit we will do the same. It is not up to us to determine who is worthy of love, but to follow the example of Jesus.
-A love for Community

And the Lord added to their number day by day those who were being saved. (ESV) They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching and to fellowship, to the breaking of bread and to prayer. Everyone was filled with awe at the many wonders and signs performed by the apostles. All the believers were together and had everything in common. They sold property and possessions to give to anyone who had need. Every day they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all the people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved.
Living in community is where life-change happens, because powerful things happen when we live-life with others. It is our desire that every person who makes Summit their home is living in community with others because that is when we experience the life changing reality of Jesus Christ.
-A love for the Bible

(ESV) Let the message of Christ dwell among you richly as you teach and admonish one another with all wisdom through psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit, singing to God with gratitude in your hearts.
Not only is the relevant, but also it is the timeless truth of God. We desire to teach and live out God’s word in a very relevant and practical way within the context of every day life.
-A love for Serving

(ESV) Now that I, your Lord and Teacher, have washed your feet, you also should wash one another’s feet. 15 I have set you an example that you should do as I have done for you.
It’s our desire to not only experience community, but also serve the local and global community God has placed us in. So often we get hung up on our lives, when there are needs all around us. At Summit we desire to see people identify a need either locally or globally and meet it.
In order to lead people affectively we will reflect: (This is more for Staff, Elders and Leadership and may not be seen anywhere else.)

The Bible presents a clear picture that the church is to have leaders and those leaders have a huge responsibility to lead in a way that points people to a growing relationship with Jesus Christ. Leadership is highly valued and used throughout all aspects of the church. We also believe that we are to grow as leaders as well as develop new leaders to serve within the church.
-A love for Creativity

Affective leadership will take a commitment to creativity. Looking at the Bible we can see that God is creator, being created in His image we are creators as well. It’s our responsibility to creatively find ways to lead people to growing relationships with Jesus Christ.
